Climb the smooth marble steps on the Sacred Way as visitors have for centuries. History’s doors open before you as you reach the Propylea, a masterpiece of classical architecture, serving as the entrance to the complex of buildings.

You will see the Parthenon, the Erechtheum and the Caryatids (Porch of Maidens),the Temple of Athena Nike and looking down at the footsteps of the hill the theater of Dionysus, the first and the biggest ancient theatre where the first drama in the world performed and the Herod Atticus Odeum, a grand Roman theater restored and used today for concerts and classical plays during the summer Athens Festival.

After visiting the Acropolis, you will enjoy a driving tour of the city where you will visit the top sights including the Temple of Olympeian Zeus.

You will see the Old Olympic Stadium (Panathinaic Stadium) where the first modern Olympics where help in 1896, you will see the Parliament Building with its traditionally dreesed evzones soldiers guarding the Monument to the Unknown soldier, Lycavettus hill the highest hill of Athens for some wonderful photo opportunities, next to the famous neoclassical buildings of Athens like the Numesmatic Museum (H.Schliemann’s house), the Central Bank of Greece, the university of Athens, the National Library and more.

03

Now it’s time to make your way to the southern-most point of Attica Cape Sounion. Enjoy a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore before coming to the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon.

Visit the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon, constructed in the 5th century BC over the ruins of a temple from the Archaic Period, perched above the sea at a height of nearly 200 feet. The 20-foot columns of the temple were intended to resist the weathering action of the sea air, and you can still see them there today.
